Yunick Award: Raymond Parks, NASCAR’s earliest multicar team owner, is the winner of this year’s Smokey Yunick Racing Pioneer Award presented by Atlanta Motor Speedway for early contributions to the sport of auto racing. Parks owned cars driven by Fonty Flock, Bob Flock and Red Byron, who won NASCAR national championships from 1947 until 1949. Previous winners of the award were Jack Smith, Fireball Roberts and Red Voigt.(That’s Racin’). Want to know more about Smokey Yunick?
