IRL and NASCAR to share engines? the AutoRacing1 site is reporting that both Ford and Chevy have suggested to NASCAR that they adopt the IRL 3.5 L normally aspirated engine as a replacement for their current 1950’s technology pushrod and carburetors engines. They suggest this will save money…to have a common platform in both series. NASCAR is also looking for a way to cut their engine size and HP to rid themselves of restrictor plates.
