Sad News: Albert Roy Richmond, 79, died Friday, November 23, 2001 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. Born on December 10, 1921, in Marshall County, WV, he was the son of the late Milford and Myrtle Miller Richmond. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Army, Company B, 411th Combat Engineers in the Pacific. He was the founder and owner of Richmond Manufacturing Company of Ashland, OH, where he and his wife resided until moving to Mooresville in 1989. Mr. Richmond was the father of the late NASCAR driver, Timothy L. Richmond who preceded him in death on August 13, 1989.(Charlotte Observer)(11-27-2001)
