Student Builds car, gets into NASCAR Tech: From the time he was a child, Tony Yost knew he wanted to work on cars — and not just any cars — he wanted to work on NASCAR stock cars. “I was brought up around cars,” said Yost, a 17-year-old senior who attends Shamokin Area High School and Northumberland County Vocational-Technical School(PA). It appears Yost is on his way to getting what he’ always wanted. He has earned national recognition for his talents, built his own race car and has been accepted into the NASCAR Technical Institute in Charlotte, N.C. Yost’ string of accomplishments began with his first-place finish in the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America (VICA) competition on Feb. 15.(full story at the News-Item), more info on schools on my Racing/Driving Schools – Jobs Page.(4-19-2002)
