TV in the 2nd half of the season: Speed Channel will broadcast up to 11 Winston Cup qualifying sessions and 12 final practice [Happy Hour] sessions in the second half of this season, taking the place of the CNN/SI cable network that carried that programming last season. The CNN/SI cable network went off the air earlier this month, so Speed Channel will take on the coverage during the NBC-Turner Sports portion of the Winston Cup season that does not air on Turner’s networks. Speed Channel is primarily owned by Fox, which does racing in the first half of the season.(ThatsRacin.com)(5-24-2002)
