Ward’s plans unclear: Ward Burton, who has been with Bill Davis Racing since 1995, says his #22 team needs more consistency, but that he’ leaning toward re-signing for 2003. He’ been presented with a contract, but didnt sign it by Davis deadline, leaving the team with a feeling of uncertainty. Davis said he’ sure crew chief Tommy Baldwin will return, but that he doesnt know what Burton’ planning on doing.
