NASCAR announced rule changes governing front air dam clearance for Dodge Ram trucks and truck suspension parts. Effective July 17, front air dams for Dodge models must have a minimum ground clearance of 4- inches. The clearance is reduced from 4- inches. Chevrolet and Ford models maintain a ground clearance of 3- inches. Also effective July 17, truck trailing arms, when measured from the center of the front mounting bushing to the center of the rear axle tube, in a straight line, must maintain an equal length on the left side and the right side with a minimum length of 51 inches and a maximum length of 52 inches.(NASCAR PR)(7-16-2002)
