In an effort to reduce costs associated with restrictor-plate racing in the BGN next season, NASCAR officials are prohibiting the use of 2003 model cars in the three superspeedway races (two Daytona race and one at Talladega). Teams are allowed to use any currently approved make of Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge or Pontiac in those races next season, officials confirmed. Officials hope the rule reduces the amount of money teams will need to spend on the three or four new superspeedway cars they would normally would have had to build.(ThatsRacin.com)(11-14-2002)
