NASCAR Reality TV Show? Cable network FX is in talks with NASCAR to create a reality series involving the stock car racing circuit, an FX spokesman said Thursday. NASCAR, whose ratings have consistently increased on the four networks that televise its races, is searching for ways to broaden the visibility of its sport, which is carried on FX, Fox, NBC, and Turner Network Television in an unusual sharing arrangement. NBC and TNT alternate televising Winston Cup races for the second half of the season after Fox Sports airs the other half starting in the winter. The spokesman said NASCAR and FX have not worked out a concept, but it would definitely be unscripted, with a final deal possible within the next two months.(Hollywood Reporter)(12-7-2002)
