Doug Duchardt, GM’s NASCAR field manager, dismissed Robert Yates’ proposal that NASCAR consider a new engine for the stock-car tour within the next five years, saying it’s just a publicity move for Ford’s new 4.2-liter double overhead cam engine, used in the 24 Hours of Daytona.
