The pit crew of Dale Earnhardt Jr. won Round 3 of the “McDonald’s Drive-Thru Pit Championship fueled by POWERade” last Sunday at the UAW-Daimler Chrysler 400, at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Earnhardt spent only 225 seconds in the pits, edging his Dale Earnhardt Incorporated teammate Michael Waltrip by 12 seconds. The victory was worth $20,000 to Earnhardt’s team. Waltrip’s crew leads the program’s overall standings. The program’s year-end champions receive $200,000. (NASCAR PR), sorry, have not seen the standings anywhere.(3-6-2003)
