Many of the crew of the USS Cape St George CG 71, currently deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, had the pleasure of being “adopted” by the Winston Cup Wives Racing Auxiliary in the Adopt A Sailor program [link is on my Ongoing Racing Charities page ]. The support of the USS Cape St George was outstanding. In addition to WCWRA they had the pleasure of having correspondence with broadcaster Winston Kelley. The ladies of WCWRA and Mr. Kelley wrote many letter to the crew which brought smiles upon everyones faces to know how much that they are appreciated back home and especially in the NASCAR community. #24 Crew Chief Robbie Loomis sent a message to the crew and Winston mentioned many more that said Thank You to the crew and they wish to say THANK YOU!(5-22-2003)
