NASCAR officials announced today that Gary R. Showalter, crew chief of the #15 Truck Series team, has been fined $250 due to a rule infraction discovered last week at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, prior to the Hardee’s 200. During the event’s initial inspection process, the #15 Ford was found to have an unapproved fuel filter check valve assembly. That was a violation of Section 12-4-Q in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series rule book (parts and/or equipment used that do not conform to NASCAR rules) and Section 12-4-A (actions detrimental to stock car racing).(NASCAR PR)(5-22-2003)
