Geoffrey Bodine to run Daytona road race:

Daytona 500 Champion Geoffrey Bodine To Compete In Paul Revere 250 at Daytona International Speedway when he races in the Paul Revere 250 Rolex Sports Car Series race on Thursday, July 3. Bodine, who first raced at Daytona 29 years ago on the road course, will share the driving duties on the #8 G&W Motorsports BMW Picchio Daytona Prototype with Darren Law. In the 1974 Permatex 200, Bodine drove a modified Vega to a fifth-place finish on the DIS road course. The Chemung, N.Y., native raced in the modified race for four years before making his first Daytona 500 start in 1979. He has won six races at the historic track, including the 1986 Daytona 500. Bodine will be part of the driving team on the G&W Motorsports BMW Picchio Daytona Prototype for this weekend’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen at Watkins Glen International and hopes to get accustomed to the sleek and stylish Daytona Prototype. This year’s Paul Revere 250 will go green following the completion of Kraft/Nabisco Qualifying for the Pepsi 400 on Thursday, July 3.
