NASCAR is expected to grant Chevrolets in the Craftsman Truck series an additional half-inch of kickout in the noses of their vehicles this week. UPDATE: NASCAR announced an amendment of the rule governing the measurement of the 2003 Chevrolet truck front air dam in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, effective Aug. 6. The rule, 20B3.1.1, covers the leading edge of the air dam or kick-out as it extends forward of the front bumper. Chevrolets from the 2003 model year may not extend more than three inches forward of the leading edge of the bumper under the amended rule. The previous measurement for the 2003 model was 2 inches.(NASCAR PR)(8-6-2003)
