NASCAR is beginning an extensive recruiting and training program for NASCAR officials. They have set up an e-mail address and phone number for candidates. The new director of officiating for NASCAR Joe Garone is working full-time on the project and preparing detailed manuals and official training courses for new officials in all positions in all series which will include both book and on the job training with veteran officials.
