Fans of the NASCAR Winston Cup era were treated Friday to a sneak preview of a special Talladega Superspeedway “Victory Lap” tribute to Bobby Allison. The long-time leader of the famed “Alabama Gang” unveiled his red, white, silver and gold #22 Victory Lap car at Darlington Raceway following a press conference where he was joined by Talladega Superspeedway President Grant Lynch and NASCAR Vice President of Corporate Communications Jim Hunter. Allison will celebrate his Winston Cup career and 1983 Winston Cup championship during pre-race festivities for the EA Sports 500 at Talladega Superspeedway on Sept. 28.(NASCAR PR)(8-30-2003)
