Vickers wins at Darlington:

#5-Brian Vickers held off Hendrick Motorsports teammate #87-Kyle Busch by 1.977 seconds to win Saturday’s Winn-Dixie 200 at Darlington Raceway then both drives performed simultaneous burnouts down the long frontstretch, to the delight of the crowd. The win is Vickers’ second of his career, second of the season and second in four races – his first win came Aug. 2 at Indianapolis. Vickers, 19, is in his first full season driving for Hendrick. “This was an awesome victory. This crew got me in lead,” said Vickers, who took the lead for the final time in a photo-finish race off pit road on Lap 126 of 147. #99-Michael Watrip finished third, #25-Bobby Hamilton Jr. fourth and pole-winner #21-Kevin Harvick completed the top five. #10-Scott Riggs continues to lead the series points race, holding a 19-point advantage over #37-David Green. Waltrip was leading when #23-Scott Wimmer hit the Turn 4 wall, forcing a caution. The lead-lap cars all pitted for fresh tires, with Vickers beating Waltrip off pit road by inches. Waltrip worked furiously to hold off Busch for second, even smacking the Turn 4 wall on one occasion while trying to prevent a pass. Busch eventually made his way around Waltrip to match his career-high finish in just three starts. The race was slowed five times by caution for 26 laps. There were seven lead changes among four drivers.(ThatsRacin.com)
