NASCAR Craftsman Truck Drivers Association. What is that? The Association was founded in 1996 and in 2000 became a non-profit organization. In the beginning, their main goal was to help their members through the race season with travel routes, track locations, parking procedures and general duties at the track. The Association realized that their NASCAR affiliation could enable them to reach out to others in the community. They have made contributions and visits to Children’s hospitals and Boy’s homes. They have worked with law enforcement to raise awareness of safety and courteousness on the roads that they travel. Craftsman has arranged numerous appearances for them at SEARS stores, as well as organized various parades at selected race venues.(9-4-2003)
