Ann Arbor’s Michigan based Whitney Racing will head to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series on a limited schedule in 2004 with upcoming driver Jimmy Thiel behind the wheel. The team is building a Chevrolet Silverado from the ground up, and has locked CCIMNet powered by Catylist as a sponsor for some of the events. The team is also expected to return to the ARCA RE/MAX Series in selected events, in the familiar No. 09 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and Pontiac Grand Prix. Dusty Whitney, the car owner has also not ruled out the possibility of putting the 24-year old Thiel in a NASCAR Busch Series event next season.(Catchfence)(12-28-2003)
