#7 Cup Team Owner Jim Smith [who also owns the #1 and #2 truck teams] says his Ultra Motorsports Nextel Cup team won’t compete in any more than three or four races without sponsorship and Rockingham the first event his crew would skip. Smith hopes something will come up, however he says the plan right now is to at least run Daytona, Las Vegas, Atlanta and Texas. Smith thinks he might find some backing, however it may not be a full year deal. “Am I optimistic, no…but I’m not a pessimist either…there’s a chance there…we’ve got a shot at getting something.” Sirius Satellite Radio opted not to resign at the end of the 2003 season.(PRN’s Garage Pass Radio Show)(1-14-2004)
