We dont have anything right now, but we have a couple of things that are continuing to move forward, said team co-owner Randy Herzog, who owns Herzog Jackson Motorsports with his father, Bill, brother, Stan, and baseball hall of famer Reggie Jackson. I dont know if well have anything put together in time for Daytona, but were moving forward to the point that well be on the track early in the season. Herzog spoke to the News-Press on Friday via phone from Scottsdale, Ariz. Hes attending the annual Barrett-Jackson classic car auction and meeting with Jackson, an avid collector of exotic cars. Both have courted potential primary sponsors after a lack of sponsorship forced the St. Joseph-based team to suspend operations last July. On Jan. 17, Herzog said he might have a potential three-year deal in place by Friday, but that deal didnt materialize. Things havent deteriorated, he said Friday.
