Mark Green comes home to join KCR:

NASCAR veteran Mark Green will soon be the driving force behind the wheel of Keith Coleman Racing (KCR). A native of Owensboro, Ky., Green has signed on for the remainder of the 2004 season, starting in Kansas Speedway, and will pilot the car through 2007. “I am very excited to be involved with KCR,” said Green. “This is an up and coming organization and I wouldn’t be with them if I wasn’t sure we had the ability to run at the front of the pack.” Green has run in 13 races on the Busch Series this season, with his best finish being 21st at the Goulds Pumps ITT Industries 200. He has been competing on the Busch Series since 1995 when he competed in two races for Brewco Racing. Green promptly stepped up to ten races in 1996, scoring one top ten finish and qualifying second fastest at Myrtle Beach Speedway. “As a new organization, we felt it was important to find a veteran driver who can put us in front early,” said Ruben Houser, team manager. “Mark has the knowledge and experience of having done it before and we couldn’t get that from a rookie.”

“We are very excited to be involved with a Kentucky team,” Cathy Green said. “Mark’s career has come full-circle and we are very thankful for the opportunity. We may live in North Carolina now, but Kentucky is home.”(KCR PR) KCR bought the team from #50 Holigan Racing, who closed shop a few months ago.(9-15-2004)
