Wallace gets a new crew chief:

Mike Wallace and car owner Fred Biagi dont expect to hire a new crew chief in the immediate future. But they are very excited about the future of the GEICO/Sport Clips team. We have been very enticed by the quality of people that have called us about coming to work for us, says Wallace. We are in the process of talking with several folks. But they are all working for existing teams so we couldnt hire them tomorrow if we wanted. But we are really happy with the quality of the people that are interested in the job. With only four races left in the 2004 NASCAR Busch Series season, Wallace says the team plans to call on some old friends for assistance. We hope to get some help from Robert Yates Racing this weekend (the Aarons 312 at Atlanta Motor Speedway), says Wallace. They are building their own Busch cars for next year, and this way they can get some experience and help us out at the same time.

We have a good bunch of guys at our shop, and they just need a little veteran leadership. Rick Ren (from Yates Racing) will probably be our acting crew chief this week at Atlanta and hopefully next week, too (at Phoenix).(Mike Wallce site/Moore On Motorsports), supposedly former crew chief Tony Lambert is seeking other oppurtunities.(10-28-2004)
