Hotel Rooms a problem for Daytona 500?:

Damage from last summer’s hurricanes could have a significant impact on this season’s Daytona 500, because about 3,700 hotel rooms of the city’s 13,548 were knocked out of commission by the storms and many may still be under repair when SpeedWeeks kick off. It’s unclear how reservations with those properties will be handled, or even how many of those Daytona 500 ticket holders are even aware of the situation. About 60 Daytona Beach hotels and a number of high-rise condos were damaged by the hurricanes. (Winston Salem Journal)(1-13-2005)
