A new book on the legendary two time winner of the Indianapolis 500 has arrived from the printer. Race fans have long clamored for an in depth look at the mysterious, charismatic racing icon who dominated auto racing’s greatest race like no one before him, or since. The biography, authored by Bob Gates, the critically acclaimed writer of Hurtubise, has accomplished just that. Titled Vukovich, the book is based on years of research by the author, and covers Vuky from his first roadster race at the age of 17, to his death at Indianapolis in 1955. The book also details the life and careers of the two generations of racing Vukoviches, Bill Jr, and Bill III, that followed him. The book has a forward by Dick Berggren, of Fox Sports, and Speedway Illustrated fame. It contains 320 pages, with 260 photos, 72 in color.
