Newman’s team may change the engine UPDATE no change:

from a Clear!Blue – Dodge Charger quotes PR:
MATT BORLAND (Crew chief No. 12 Alltel Dodge Charger) COMMENT ON POSSIBLE ENGINE CHANGE FOR SUNDAY’S 600:
“Ryan felt a vibration (in Happy Hour). We don’t know if it was the engine tires or what. It got better afterwards. Usually it doesn’t get better. I wouldn’t take a chance on a 300-mile race. Usually if the engine is vibrating it’s going to go and it’s going to go pretty soon. They’ve torn everything down and everything looks as good as normal. We’re still looking. By then (tomorrow) we’ll either change it or give it a blessing and send it on its way.” NOTE: If the team does change engines, Newman would start at the rear of the field befpre the drop of the green flag for the Coca Cola 600 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.(5-29-2005)
UPDATE: Newman’s team did not change the engine and will start from the pole.(5-29-2005)
