AND The Home Depot and NASCAR kicked off Racing to Play, a national partnership with Joe Gibbs Racing and KaBOOM! in Jackson, Michigan on June 16th. The campaign, which features playground builds in ten cities nationwide, is designed to make a lasting impression in the lives of at- risk children who live in NASCAR race communities. Racing to Play kicked off with a playground build at the Jackson Arts and Technology Academy in Jackson, Michigan prior to the Michigan 400 at the Michigan International Speedway. Tony Stewart and other members of Joe Gibbs Racing participated. “This program brings together two of my deepest interests — racing and providing assistance to children in need,” said Stewart. “In addition to building playgrounds, I hope that we can inspire these children to fulfill their dreams.”(KaBOOM.org), see images of the scheme on my #20 Team Schemes page.(6-21-2005)
