Eury Sr. thinks swap could had been a mistake at DEI:

Cup Scene at the track at an interview DEI’s Tony Eury Sr. gave: “We got a lot of bad press at the beginning at the first of the year on why it was running bad. I guess we made a bad move over the winter and our cars down there in the 8 shop weren’t as good as we thought they were. When you get behind like that, it takes time to catch up. We’re getting him a fleet of cars now and getting them better. When you got something good, I guess you should leave it alone. You know we won six races with him last year maybe it should have been left alone. But that’s past and we got to get him in that Chase now, so everything’s behind us and we’re going forward from here and building (Dale Jr.) good cars and trying to get in that chase.” As for the third team: “We’re still debating on a driver. We don’t real know what’s going to happen yet. We had a deadline and we extended it with a couple of sponsors and drivers, right now we’re just kind of in the middle of everything.” BUT “Martin [Truex Jr.] will be in the #1 (Cup)car (next year).(Cup Scene Report from DIS)(6-30-2005)
