Some Goodyear Tire Notes for Daytona:

Both the NASCAR Nextel Cup and Busch Series will run the same tire codes this weekend at Daytona . . . this is the same tire set-up that Goodyear brought to this track in February . . . Daytona is the only track at which teams will run this combination of left- and right-side tires this season, though it is similar to the set-up run at the other restrictor plate track on the schedule (Talladega) . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in their tires at Daytona . . . the inflation in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire. Goodyear Quote — Mark Keto, Lead Engineer, Stock Car Racing: “This is the same set-up we brought to Daytona in February, when we had a great deal of success during the race. Since teams have that race under their belts, we expect similar, positive results this weekend.” If the race stays green for extended periods… the estimated pit window is every 36-38 laps, based on fuel mileage.
