The newest overall voting figures were released today prior to the only remaining off weekend for the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series in 2005. Since General Mills began sponsoring the Chex NMPA NASCAR Most Popular Driver Award at the beginning of the 2002 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series season, well over 12 million votes have been cast by fans throughout the world.
