#6 to #9 in 2006…drivers:

Ray Evernham announced a new driver lineup in the #6 Dodge for 2006. The car number will be changed to the #9 with drivers Kasey Kahne, Scott Riggs and Jeremy Mayfield splitting duties. Kahne will drive the majority of the companion events. As far as the standalone Busch races, Evernham says he is unsure who the driver may be and added, “What we’d like to do is add another developement driver.” One of those names popping up for consideration is the fourth generation, AJ Foyt IV.(BGNRacing.com)(9-9-2005)
MORE – Unilever Signs Multi-Year Busch Series Deal with Evernham Motorsports: Unilever United States announced the signing of a multi-year agreement with Evernham Motorsports starting with the upcoming 2006 Busch Series season. The new program, named the Ultimate Chargers will replace the highly successful Hungry Drivers program that began during the 2004 NASCAR Busch Series. Under terms of the agreement, Evernham Motorsports’ Busch Series team will feature an expanded group of Unilever brands, all sharing the sponsorship starting in 2006. Unilever Home and Personal Care Products (HPC) Snuggle Fabric Softener and Wisk Laundry Detergent and Unilever food brands Wish-Bone Salad Dressings and Slim-Fast weight control products, will join current sponsoring brands Ragu pasta sauce, Hellmann’s Mayonnaise, Country Crock chilled sides and meals, Lipton Tea and Lawry’s Spices and Marinades as the sponsors of the Ultimate ChargersT team. Fans will see the Evernham family of NEXTEL Cup drivers, including standouts Kasey Kahne, Jeremy Mayfield, and Scott Riggs behind the wheel of the Ultimate Chargers #9 Dodge Charger. Trip Bruce will remain crew chief of the team. The #9 will feature a new primarily red paint scheme featuring the various sponsoring brands. The Ultimate Chargers team will race the 23 companion races in the 2006 NASCAR Busch Series.
