#38-Brandon Whitt won the pole for the Chevy Silverado 150 at Phoenix International Raceway with a track record speed of 131.200mph, just beating Jack Sprague’s recor of last year [131.186]. It is Whitt’s 2nd pole of the season and of his career, he also wo the pole at Memphis in July and won the race. #23-Johnny Benson starts 2nd followed by #15-Kyle Busch, last years champ #04-Bobby Hamilton and this years points leader #1-Ted Musgrave. 2nd in points, #46-Dennis Setzer starts 18th. #4-Erin Crocker will start 22nd. Missing the race were: #27-Frank Wilson Jr. and #02-Kelly Sutton.
