K Automotive Motorsports(#29), one of the longest-running teams in the Truck Series will not be making their 263rd start next weekend at the Daytona International Speedway due to lack of sponsorship funding. The K Automotive team has a fully prepared Ford race truck ready for competition if any type of sponsorship funding was to come together prior to the event. “It is a really sad thing for our team to be forced to miss the Daytona event,” said Kay Keselowski, Team Owner and General Manager. “Our team has worked really hard throughout the off-season to get this race truck ready and we were looking forward to backing up the top-ten finish that we had in Daytona last year. But with no sponsorship funding coming through, it looks as though we are going to be forced to miss the event. UPDATE: Following the unfortunate news of this past week that K Automotive Motorsports would be forced to miss the upcoming Truck Series season opener, a compassionate gift was presented to the team that will enable them to compete in Fridays GM Flex Fuel 250. A former Nextel Cup team owner heard about the story and made the decision to help a fellow Michigan family continue their family tradition for another race.
