NASCAR NEXTEL Cup testing is underway today at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway after a three-hour rain delay this morning. Forty-two drivers plan to turn laps after rain washed out testing Tuesday. Testing is scheduled to continue until 6:00pm/et.
Day 2 [Tuesday, July 11th] was washed out by rain, testing is scheduled to continue, Wednesday, July 12th at 8:00am/et.
Day 3 Speeds: #41-Sorenson was fastest 65 cars on Wednesday’s final day of testing at Indy with a speed of 181.892mph, which was also the fastest overall of the 2-day test [Monday and Wed…Tues was rained out], followed by #2a-Busch, #4-Wimmer, #21-Schrader and #38a-Sadler. #04-Bobby Hamilton Jr., #16-Greg Biffle and #5-Kyle Busch each contacted the wall, no word on damage, no injuires reported.
