Hamlin wins pole at Pocono:

#11-Denny Hamlin won the Budweiser Pole for the Pennsylvania 500 at Pocono Raceway with a speed of 169.827mpg for his 2nd pole of 2006, 2nd in a row at Pocono and 3rd of his career, Hamlin won the race in June at Pocono from the pole. Starting on the outside pole is #12-Ryan Newman followed by #9-Kasey Kahne, #25-Brians Vickers and #24-Jeff Gordon. #44-Terry Labonte qualified 37th. The non-top 35 teams that made the race were: #49-Lepage, #90-Leicht [for his first career start], #44-Labonte, #55-Waltrip, #32-Kvapil, #4-Wimmer [who missed Pocono in June], #40-Stremme and #78-Spencer grabbed the final spot after #61-Chaffin’s speed was disallowed for the car being too low.
