The #23-Chevy made a pit stop at Oklahoma’s State Capitol Building and was greeted by eager NASCAR fans. Blake Wade, Oklahoma Centennial executive director worked with Edmond, Okla. resident Al Smith to bring the state’s 100th commemoration to NASCAR. Oklahoma Centennial’s NASCAR debut was made possible by Smith, a longtime NASCAR fixture and executive vice president of the Keith Coleman Racing Team, and team CEO Keith Coleman. The space on the racecar was donated by the racing team as a way to show its support for Oklahoma’s Centennial.(Oklahoma Centennial Commission PR)(2-22-2007)
