The first day [of two] of testing at Bristol Motor Speedway ended Wednesday night after three sessions with #48A-Jimmie Johnson fastest at 122.007mph followed by #4A-Ward Burton, #9B-Kasey Kahne, #11B-Denny Hamlin and #29A-Kevin Harvick. Slowest was #15A-Menard at 117.071. Incident: #$-Ward Burton crashed his Morgan-McClure Chevy in the final minutes of the session, destroying the front splitter and crushing the front end after making contact with the inside retaining wall off the frontstretch. Burton didn’t hit the wall that hard, but the front end crushed significantly.
