Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, Inc., the nation’s largest chain of double drive-thru restaurants has been recognized as the 2006 Bill Veeck Sports Sponsorship Award winner for the Professional Association category. The chain received the award for its Official Burger and Drive-Thru Restaurant sponsorship of NASCAR and several International Speedway Corporation (ISC) race tracks. Checkers/Rally’s became part of the NASCAR experience in 2005 with its Official Burger and Drive-Thru Restaurant sponsorship of the sport, and further supports this relationship through its official track sponsorships at Daytona, Richmond, Homestead and Michigan, as well as Indianapolis. The annual Bill Veeck Sports Sponsorship Awards are organized by the John Cook School of Business at Saint Louis University.
