Indianapolis 500 champion Sam Hornish Jr. said a start in this year’s Nextel Cup race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway is unlikely. Hornish, at Richmond for the Busch Series race Friday night, will begin practice Tuesday in defense of his Indy 500 victory. A start in the July 29 Allstate 400 Nextel Cup race at the Indianapolis track isn’t out of the question yet, but Hornish isn’t optimistic it would happen in 2007.(SceneDaily.com)(5-6-2007)
