Monday and Tuesday, July 23-24 is when the Craftsman Truck and Busch Series drivers get their initial look at the Speedway’s first new surface since the original concrete was placed in 1992. Test sessions will take place Monday for Trucks and Tuesday for the Busch Series as teams prepare for the O’Reilly 200 at BMS on Aug. 22 and the Food City 250 on Aug. 24. BMS president and general manager Jeff Byrd is very happy with the new surface. “We are really pleased with the end results of the track resurfacing project at Bristol and are looking forward to hearing what the drivers think when they get here next week,” he said. “I believe our development group did a terrific job of redesigning NASCAR’s most popular track. Both test sessions will be open to the public. Fans may view the session from the backstretch grandstands and may enter through Gate 7. Grandstands will open at 11 a.m., the same time testing begins. Goodyear will host a private tire test on Wednesday, July 25 that is closed to the public.(Bristol Motor Speedway PR)(7-19-2007)
