Jeff Gordon wins pole at Michigan:

#24-Jeff Gordon won the Budweiser Pole for the 3M Performance 400 at Michigan International Speedway with a speed of 189.026mph for his 6th pole of the season and 62nd of his career. Gordon went out last and took the pole from #16-Biffle, who had just gone out and took the pole from #9-Kahne [who starts 3rd], #43-Labonte starts 4th, followed by: #19-Sadler, #5-Busch, #48-Johnson, #07-Bowyer, #11-Hamlin and #01-Martin. The eight go-or-go homers who made the race were: #55-Waltrip [starts 11th], #00-Reutimann, #49-Andretti, #22-Blaney, #83-Vickers, #4-Burton, #08-Nemechek [first start for this team] and #10-Riggs.
