It’s not just an all-Hendrick front row….it’s an all-Hendrick Top-3! Continuing to show that COT dominance, Jimmie Johnson took the Bud Pole tonight at Richmond International Raceway for Saturday Night’s Chevy Rock and Roll 400 with a time of 21.378 (126.298 mph) with teammate Jeff Gordon alongside and teammate Kyle Busch right behind him in 3rd. This is the first top-spot for Johnson this season and he becomes the 14th different driver to qualify for next February’s Budweiser Shootout at Daytona. This is career pole #10 for JJ. Kenny Wallace (22nd….and in the #88 for Ricky Rudd this weekend) has his best starting spot since he lined up 6th at Darlington in May. Kyle Petty (30th) has his best starting spot since he qualified 23rd at Infineon Raceway in June. Dale Jarrett (32nd) has his best starting spot since he timed in 16th at Infineon Raceway in June. STREAKIN….Jimmie Johnson has 6 Top-10 starts in a row. Denny Hamlin has 6 Top-10 starts in the last 7 races. Kyle Busch has 5 Top-10 starts in the last 6 races. Short haul for the Trouble Train this week.
