on the first day of testing at California Speeway, 54 cars ran laps, with a double dose of #11A &B at the top, Denny Hamlin took the top two spots in the morning session on Day 1, with the #11B Toyota at 182.523mph, followed by the #11A Toyota at 181.800. Then #12A-Newman was next in a Dodge, followed by #18-Busch, #8A-Martin and #24A-Gordon was the 5th fastest driver and 8th fastest car. The fastest Ford was #99A-Edwards in 10th. John Andretti tested the #34 Chevy again for Front Row Motorsports as he in in Las Vegas. #40A-Franchitti had the slowest car at 173.435. The track qualifying record is 188.425mph, set by Kyle Busch in Feb 2005.
