#18-Kyle Busch won the pole for the Sprint All-Star Challenge at Lowe’s Motor Speedway with a time of 121.950 seconds, Busch went out last and took the pole from #24-Jeff Gordon, who will start 2nd, followed by #2-Busch, #1-Treux Jr., #16-Biffle, #26-McMurray, #31-Burton, #12-Newman, #07-Bowyer and #43-Labonte. #44-Dale jarrett, who will retire after the race, will start 18th. Drivers penalized: #5-Mears [5 seconds for crew leaving the wall too early]; #29-Harvick [5, lug nut]; #44-Jarrett [5, lug nut]; #99-Edwards [20, too fast pit road]; #11-Hamlin, too fast pit road]; #48-Johnson, time disallowed for getting service outdie the pit box].
