vice president of AARWBA [American Auto Racing Writers & Broadcasters Association], Michael F. Hollander, passed away September 24, when he succumbed to mesothelioma at the age of 61. Hollander was a racing enthusiast well known in every media center as the journalist who brought motorsports news online in 1979. His Racing Information Services and Motor Sports Forum evolved into a pioneer website providing real-time information from events all over the world. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Dr. Sandra Horwitz, Optometrist, and their daughter, Sharon. A memorial service is scheduled for 1pm. Friday, Sept. 26, at Hillside Memorial Park, 6001 W.
