Goodyear Tire Notes:

Teams in the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series will be running the same tire codes this weekend . . . this is the same combination of left- and right-side tires that teams in these two series ran at Charlotte in May . . . Charlotte is the only track at which this left-side tire code (D-4128) will be run in 2008 . . . this right-side code (D-4130) was run with a different left-side at Darlington earlier this season . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one-mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Charlotte . . . air pressure in those inner lines should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire. Testing update: Goodyear held its second recent tire test at Indianapolis Motor Speedway this past Monday and Tuesday . . . teams that participated were the No. 07, 1, 5, 9, 17, 20, 26, 29, 38, 41, 43 and 84 . . . the test was scheduled to continue on Wednesday, but rain cancelled all on-track activity . . . this was a follow-up to the test held with the No. 45 Petty Enterprises Dodge at IMS on Sept. 22-23 . . . other tire tests upcoming include include a 2008 confirmation test at Homestead (Oct. 14) and one looking ahead to the 2009 season at Las Vegas (Dec. 10-11). For pressures, codes and more see my Charlotte Race Info page.(10-9-2008)
