the ABC broadcast of the Bank of America 500 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway had a an overnight overnight rating 3.5 with a 7 share. AND ABC’s live coverage of the Bank of America 500 Sprint Cup race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway on Saturday night, Oct. 11, earned a final national rating of 3.8, down from the 4.2 final rating for last year’s telecast that also aired on ABC. The race averaged 6,034,447 viewers. ABC’s coverage of the Chase for the Sprint Cup is up from last year, averaging 3.9 through five races. Last year’s five-race average was 3.8. ESPN2’s live coverage of the rain-plagued Nationwide Series event at Lowe’s Motor Speedway on Oct. 10 earned a final national HH coverage rating of 1.1, averaging 1,356,716 viewers. The race had two red flags for rain. The rating was down from 1.3 for the same race last year when the event ran without rain delays. ESPN2 continues to be up over last year’s Nationwide Series with an average rating of 1.5 after 20 races, up from a 1.4 average last year (ESPN).
