#48-Jimmie Johnson won the pole for the Sprint All-Star Challenge at Lowe’s Motor Speedway with a time of 121.43 seconds. #2-Busch will start 2nd followed by #17-Kenseth, #88-Earnhardt Jr., #5-Martin, #24-Gordon, #96-Labonte, #9-Kahne and #09-Keselowski. The final eight drivers had problems, starting 11th will be #16-Biffle [5 second penalty for 1 loose lug nut] then #39-Newman [pit stop problems], #18-Busch [5 seconds, 1 loose lug], #99-Edwards [15 seconds, 3 loose lugs], #14-Stewart [left his pit after two tires were changed, had to back up for the left side], #31-Burton [20 seconds for speeding], #33-Bowyer [20 seconds for speeding] and #11-Hamlin [broke a drive shaft leaving the pit stall].
