Michael Annett was the Raybestos Rookie of the Race in the Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers 250 at Gateway International Raceway. Annett scored a seventh-place finish, his second top-10 of the season and equaled his best finish in 20 NASCAR Nationwide Series races. He claimed top rookie honors for the first time this season.
Erik Darnell scored a 10th-place finish at Gateway, his fifth top-10 in seven starts this season.
At least one Raybestos Rookie has scored top-10 finishes in the last 17 consecutive NASCAR Nationwide Series races.
Allgaier leads Brendan Gaughan by 11 points (187-176) in the overall Raybestos Rookie standings entering the July 25 Kroger 200 at O’Reilly Raceway Park.
Allgaier is seventh in the NASCAR Nationwide Series championship standings, best of any Raybestos Rookie. He trails sixth-place Mike Bliss by 19 points and leads eight-place Steve Wallace by 114.
Brendan Gaughan (tenth) is the only other Raybestos Rookie currently ranked inside the top-10 in the series championship standings.
TWO Raybestos Rookies have won pole positions during the 2009 NASCAR Nationwide Series season: Gaughan and Erik Darnell.
Cale Gale was the Raybestos Rookie of the Race in the 2008 Kroger 200 at O’Reilly Raceway Park, scoring a sixth-place finish. Gale also led the race once for one lap.
At least one Raybestos Rookie has scored a top-10 finish in the last six consecutive Kroger 200 races.
Reed Sorenson (2005) and Jason Leffler (2000) are the only Raybestos Rookies to win a pole positions for the Kroger 200.
